# If You Get Banned

Even if you follow every lesson here, there's always a chance. No cheat makes an account unbannable, and anyone who tells you otherwise is lying. So here's what to do if it happens, and how to make sure it doesn't happen again.

#### Work Out What Kind of Ban It Was

Before you spend a single dollar replacing anything, figure out why you got banned. It decides everything else.

* **Was the cheat detected?** Check the [status page](https://arcticcheats.wtf/status). If your cheat isn't showing Undetected anymore, or a bunch of other people got hit at the same time, that's a detection wave. Wait for the cheat to be updated before you play again, otherwise you're just feeding it another account.
* **Were you reported?** If the status is still Undetected and nobody else got hit, it was how you played. A new account won't fix that unless you also change how you play.

People skip this step all the time. They buy a new account, run the exact same config, and lose that one too.

#### Bans Can Be Delayed

A lot of anti-cheats don't ban you on the spot. They save what they see and ban in waves days or even weeks later. So the ban you got today might be from something you did last week, and one clean session doesn't prove your settings are safe.

#### Did It Reach Your Hardware?

Make a new account and try to play. If it gets blocked right away, the ban is on your PC and you'll need a spoofer. Everything you need to know is in the [HWID Bans and Spoofers](/stay-undetected/introduction/hwid-bans-and-spoofers.md) lesson.

#### Getting Back In

Once you know what you're dealing with, it's pretty quick:

1. Spoof if your hardware was banned.
2. Get on a clean account, ideally one with hours on it (see [High Houred Accounts](/stay-undetected/introduction/high-houred-accounts.md)).
3. Be honest with yourself about what got you banned before you queue again.

Also keep in mind that repeat offenses on the same account usually get punished harder. If an account already got a temp ban, treat it as marked.

#### Don't Fall Into the Replacement Trap

Getting back in only takes a few minutes, and that's exactly what makes it expensive. When recovery is easy it's tempting to treat accounts like they're disposable and play more blatant, which leads to more bans, which leads to more accounts. The people spending the most money on this are almost always the ones who found getting back in easy.

**The cheapest way to cheat is to not get banned in the first place.** An account with real history, settings that don't look like a cheat, and the habits from these lessons.
